Bar/Bat Mitzvahs

Brandon Barnett

David Zeitlin

David Aaron Zeitlin will celebrate his
bar mitzvah at Temple Israel on
Friday, Sept. 12. He is the son of Lisa
and Barry Zeitlin, brother of Lindsay
and Carly and grandchild of Barbara
and Daniel Allen, Helen and Milton
Faye and the late Allen Zeitlin.
David's mitzvah projects included
assisting at the PATH shelter. A stu-
dent at Walled Lake Middle School,
he enjoys baseball, basketball and soc-
cer as well as collecting sports cards.

Brandon Scott Barnett will become a
bar mitzvah at Havdalah services on
Saturday, Sept. 13, at Temple Israel.
He is the son of Mary and Russell
Barnett and grandchild of Marjorie
Gutterman and Verna and Harvey
Barnett. Proud great-grandmother is
Ethel Goldberg. He also is the grand-
son of the late Dr. Meyer Gutterman.
Yad Ezra food deliveries were part
of his mitzvah projects.He traveled to
Israel with his family and other
Temple Israel members. Brandon
attends Bloomfield Hills Middle
School and enjoys sailing, basketball
and rollerblading.

Bryan S. Elkus will be bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Sept. 13, at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek. Rabbis Groner and
Weiss and Cantors Najman and Rube
will lead services. Participating in the
ceremony will be Bryan's parents,
Jacqueline and Lawrence, and his sis-
ter Lauren.
Grandparents are Estelle and Philip
Elkus of Bloomfield Hills and Liddy
and Jerry Weinberg of West Branch.
Bryan is a student at West Hills
Middle School and attends Hebrew
school at Shaarey Zedek. Bryan is
active in Shaarey Zedek youth activi-
ties, plays the saxophone and is a mem-
ber of the West Hills diving team.

Michael Chait

Michael Bailey Chait of West
Bloomfield will be called to the Torah
to observe his bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Sept. 13, at Beth Abraham
Hillel Moses.
Mike is the son of Dianne and
Steve Chait. Proud grandmothers are
Minnie Schiffman and Clare Chait.
Mike also is the grandson of the late
Abraham Schiffman and the late
Albert Chait. Mike, a student at West
Hills Middle School, is involved in
performing arts and brought home a
trophy from the state forensics meet.
He writes and directs his own films
