Biblical Event
At Toledo Zoo

Simchat Safari, hosted by the Jewish
Community Center of Toledo, will
meet at the Toledo Zoo, 2-5 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 14, for a biblical scav-
enger hunt. The program will include
music, arts and crafts and a light
snack. The cost of the events is $5 per
family plus zoo admission.

Selichot Event
Welcomes Rabbi

Congregation Shaarey Zedek and
Shaarey Zedek B'nai Israel will hold a
special evening welcoming Rabbi
Stephen Weiss and his wife Naomi, 9
p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the
Southfield synagogue.
The evening will consist of a pre-
Rosh Hashanah celebration in prepa-
ration for the new year. Rabbi Weiss
will speak on "The God I Believe In"
— a hands-on exploration of the rela-
tionship between God, ourselves and
the world in which we live. The ABZ
Orchestra, directed by Abraham Ben
Zev, will entertain.
Selichot will be conducted at 11:15
p.m. in the main sanctuary. Admission
to the entire evening is free but reser-
vations are necessary; call the cantors'

Women Hold
Annual Auction

Jewish Women International will hold
its annual auction, 7 p.m. Wednesday,
Sept. 24, at Congregation B'nai David.
There is no charge for admission and
