Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Lindsey Drasin

walked dogs, collected animal
food and supplies and earned
money to contribute. He also is
a madrich at Temple Kol Ami
Religious School.

Lindsey Tamar Drasin will be
called to the Torah as a bat mitz-
vah on Friday, Sept. 5, at Tem-
ple Israel. Participating in the
ceremony will be her parents,
Caryn and Gary Drasin; her sis-
ter and brother-in-law, Amy and
Steve Klein; her cousins, Adam
and Neil Swaab, and her grand-
pa Iry Vinokour.
Proud grandparents are Iry
and Bea Vinokour of West
Bloomfield and Al Drasin of
Grand Rapids. Lindsey also is
the granddaughter of the late
Jerry Swaab and the late Jennie
Drasin. Lindsey attends 0. E.
Dunkel Middle School, where
she is an honor roll student. Her
hobbies include playing the vi-
olin in the Dunkel orchestra,
writing, dancing, art and golfing.
Her mitzvah projects includ-
ed collecting money for ALS in
honor of her late grandfather,
helping with distribution of
Passover candy at temple, and
helping out at Fleischman Hall.

Robert Gutman

Robert Samuel Gutman will be
called to the Torah as a bar mitz-
vah on Sept. 6, at Temple Kol
Ami. Robbie is the son of Karen
and Howard Gutman and broth-
er of Eric and Brian Gutman.
Proud grandparents are Cantor
David and Margaret Gutman
and Helen and Martin Lattin.
Robert also is the grandson of the
late Samuel Carl Eder.
Robbie is an honor student at
East Middle School in Farming-
ton Hills. He plays coronet in his
school band and enjoys playing
baseball, drawing and cartoon
illustrating.
Robbie volunteers at the Sil-
ver Lake Animal Rescue League
for his mitzvah project. He has
assisted at animal adoption sites,

Zachary Norris

Zachary Norris

Zachary Aaron Norris of Farm-
ington Hills was called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah on Fri-
day, Aug. 29, at Temple Kol Ami.
He is the son of Dharlene and
Charles Norris, brother of Lau-
ra, Chuck Jr., Jordan and Sara.
Zach's proud grandparents are
Betty and Harry Katzman of
Aventura, Fla., and Pearl Nor-
ris. He also is the grandson of the
late David Norris.
Zach's mitzvah project in-
cluded the Denver Coat Drive,
Fort St. Presbyterian Church
clothes drive, collecting pre-
scription glasses and shoes and
collecting clothes for students at
a local Detroit elementary school.
Zach is a student at Dunckel
Middle School. His hobbies in-
clude aggressive skating, ice
hockey, rollerblading and draw-
ing.
