Annual Service
Under The Stars

Mat Shalom Synagogue will hold
its annual Kabbalat Shabbat ser-
vice under the stars at 7:30 p.m.
on Friday, Sept. 12. A pareve ice-
cream oneg will follow.
Adat Shalom's regular 6 p.m.
service will take place that evening
in addition to the outdoor service.

B'nai Moshe
Adult Classes

Rabbi Rod Glogower, who is af-
filiated with the Orthodox Hillel
Minyan at the University of Michi-
gan at Arm Arbor, will teach a 12-
part series for adult learners at
Congregation B'nai Moshe.
The course, titled "RSVP: Rab-
binic Sources, Visionary Perspec-
tives," will meet 10:30 a.m.-noon
Tuesday mornings, starting Sept.
16. Tuition is $100 for members of
Congregation B'nai Moshe; $120
for others. The ability to follow a
text in Hebrew is helpful but not
required.

Cantor Ben-is served for 12
years as cantor, educator and choir
leader of Kehilath Israel Syna-
gogue in Overland Park, Kan., a
suburb of Kansas City. He was or-
dained by the Jewish Theological
Seminary in 1976 and holds a
master's degree in education with
a specialty in marriage counseling
and family therapy, and a bache-
lor of arts in music therapy.
In addition to his duties at B'nai
Moshe, Cantor Berris will teach
pre-bar and bat mitzvah students
at Hillel.
