Dr. Michael J. Franzblau will be the featured speaker at
the upcoming meeting of the Greater Detroit Chapter of
Hadassah, 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at Temple Beth El.
The speech is titled "Nazi Doctors: Why Did They Do It?"
The topic will cover ethical values in health care with lessons
from Hitler's Germany. Dr. Franzblau is a clinical profes-
sor and lecturer at the University of California School of
Medicine in San Francisco.

Bestows Honors
Florine Mark Ross, president
and chief executive officer of
Weight Watchers Group Inc.,
will be honored by the Israel
Cancer Association (ICA),
Michigan branch, at a fund-
raising dinner, 6:30 p.m. Sun-
day, Sept. 28, at Adat Shalom
Synagogue. Proceeds from the
dinner will be sent to the par-
ent organization in Israel.
ICA, which receives no gov-
ernment funds, is Israel's
largest charitable organiza-
tion,
The principal speaker for
the evening will be Israel's
Amos Oz, whose works have
been translated into more
than 30 languages. He also is
one of the leading political ac-
tivists in the Peace Now
Movement.

vice president of General Motors Corporation and pres-
ident of Delphi Automotive Systems. He will receive JNF's
Tree of Life Award, given in recognition of professional
