Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Zachary Norris

Charles Norris, brother of Chuck
Jr., Jordan and Sara. Zach's
proud grandparents are Betty
and Harry Katzman of Aventu-
ra, Fla., and Pearl Norris. He is
also the grandson of the late
David Norris.
Zach's mitzvah projects in-
cluded the Denver Coat Drive,
Fort St. Presbyterian Church
clothes drive, collecting pre-
scription glasses and shoes, and
collecting clothes for students at
a local Detroit elementary school.
Zach is a student at Dunckel
Middle School. His hobbies in-
clude aggressive skating, ice hock-
ey, rollerblading, and drawing.

Daniel Kirsch

Daniel Kirsch

Daniel Evan Kirsch will observe
his bar mitzvah on Friday, Aug.
29, at Temple Israel. He is the
son if Cheryl and Dr. Richard
Kirsch, brother of Amy and
Scott, and grandchild of Bobbi
and Jack Kirsch and Anne and
Norman Saulles.
His mitzvah projects includ-
ed assisting with meal prepa-
ration when Temple Israel
housed the homeless. Attending
West Hills Middle School, Dan
enjoys tennis football, basket-
ball, and collecting sports cards.

Geoffrey Todd Adelman of West
Bloomfield will be called to the
Torah as a bar mitzvah at Con-
gregation Shaarey Zedek, Sat-
urday, Aug. 30.
Geoffery is the son of Dr.
Marc and Karen Adelman, and
the grandson of Ted and Shre-
da Saretsky, Sylvia Adelman,
and the late David Adelman.
His two sisters, Dori and Nicole
Adelman, will participate in his
bar mitzvah service and cele-
bration.
Geoffery is a seventh-grade
honor student at West Hills
Middle school. He enjoys play-
ing basketball and soccer. Ge-
offery enjoys working with
various religious school pro-
grams at Shaarey Zedek, and
assisting at Yad Ezra, as part of
his mitzvah project.

Elliot Darvick

Elliot Darvick

Elliot Jacob Darvick will cele-
brate becoming bar mitzvah at
Shabbat services on Saturday,
Aug. 30, at Temple Beth El.
An honors student at Hillel
Day School, he will lead the ser-
vice, in addition to chanting the
morning's Torah and Haftorah
portion.
During this year of prepara-
tion, Elliot volunteered at the
Michigan Animal Rescue
League, prepared meals for
COTS and for the Salvation
Army, and delivered food and
Purim baskets for Yad Ezraand
JEFF. He was also a volunteer
junior counselor at TBE's sum-
mer camp. Elliot enjoys playing
drums and tennis.
