Adult Learning
At B'nai Moshe

Congregation B'nai Moshe will
host an adult learning open house
7-9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8. The
open house is free and open to the
community.
From 7 to 8 p.m., there will be
a preview of B'nai Moshe's two-
year adult Jewish learning pro-
gram, "N'siah: A Spiritual
Journey." New classes begin Sept.
15. Rabbi Elliot Pachter, Cantor
Earl G. Berris and Education Di-
rector Rita Abramson will review
the philosophy behind the pro-
gram, discuss the curriculum,
and answer questions.
Other adult classes offered by
B'nai Moshe this fall include He-
brew, Jewish philosophy, music,
history, rabbinics, Bible and oth-
ers.
At 8 p.m., there will be an
adult learning session about the
High Holidays, taught by Rabbi
Marla Feldman of the Jewish
Community Council. Her subject
will be, "Is This The Fast I Have
Chosen? Isaiah's Call For Jus-
tice."
Community educator Ruth
Bergman will lead a four-part
pre-High Holiday text study se-
ries for adult learners at B'nai
Moshe, on Thursdays from 11:30
a.m. to 12:30 p.m., starting Sept.
4. There is a charge.
Her subject will be, "Days of
Awe: A Close Look at the Litur-
gy." Study sessions will focus on
key prayers from the Rosh
Hashanah and Yom Kippur litur-
gies.
The series is part of the "Eilu
v' Eilu" Adult Jewish Learning
Project, co-sponsored by B'nai
Moshe, Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses, Beth Shalom, Hillel Day
School and Women's League for
Conservative Judaism-Michigan
Branch.
Tuition is $20 for members of
the "Eilu v' Eilu" sponsoring or-
ganizations and $28 for others.
