A Rosii Chodesh lecture series for
women has been established at
the Jimmy Prentis Morris Jewish
Community Center 10:15 to 11:30
a.m. starting Tuesday, Sept. 2.
This series, presented by well-
known women from our commu-
nity, will cover a variety of topics
concerning the Jewish family.
On Sept. 2, Sara Eisemann, a
native of Is-rael who is now a Jew-
ish Family Service social worker,
will speak on "Family Relations."
Dr. Janet Snider, a Detroit Med-
ical Center pediatrician, will talk
about "Rx for Healthy Kids" on
Thursday, Oct. 30. "Chanukah
Highlights" will be the topic that
Yael Weil, rebbetzin of Young Is-
rael of Oak Park, will discuss on
Monday, Dec. 1; and Leah Lange,
the mikvah goodwill ambassador,
will share information about 'The
Fundamentals of Family Purity"
on Monday, Dec. 29.
Tickets for this program are
available at the JPM reception
desk at a charge of $7 for the four-
part series or $2.50 for each in-
dividual event. Light
refreshments will be served.
Child care is available upon re-
quest at a nominal fee; advance
reservations are required by call-

Membership Tea

Glennwood ORT's membership
tea will be 7:30 p.m. Wed., Aug.
27, at Maple Tree Clubhouse,

field. The speaker will be Bun-
ny Miller-Shaw, licensed marital
and family practice therapist.
She is a former director of Hen-
ry Ford Hospital's Out-Patient
Clinic.

Hosts WINGO

The Ko-ach chapter of Women's
American ORT, Michigan Re-
gion, will present the Seventh
Annual WINGO Event (Women
Only Bingo) 6 p.m. Wednesday,
Sept. 17, at Congregation Beth
Achim. The charge, $26 per per-
son, includes dinner and one
bingo card.

children's or young adult book
and receive a complimentary

Ko-ach ORT
Installation

The Ko-ach Chapter of Woman's
American ORT will hold its `97-
'98 installation of board mem-
bers 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3,
at Villa Maria's Restaurant. All

Evergreen Group of Hadassah
will hold its opening dinner meet-
ing 6:30 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 9, at
Hadassah House, 5030 Orchard
Lake Road, West Bloomfield.
Guest speaker for the meeting will
be Lila Orbach Lazarus, medical
and news reporter on WDIV
Channel 4.
Family and friends are wel-
come. A dairy dinner will be

Caribbean Music and Dance
Programs will offer Chanukah
with Jewish communities in Ha-
vana and Santiago de Cuba,
Dec. 21-31. This year,
Chanukah coincides with the
17th Annual Havana Interna-
tional Latin Jazz Festival Dec.
16-23.
The tour's itinerary is de-
signed to ease travelers into the
Cuban Jewish communities and
features visits to synagogues,
Jewish cemeteries and other
sites important to Judaic his-
tory in Cuba.
Tour package is $2,450.
