Jamie Warren

Jamie Meredith Warren will be-
come a bat mitzvah on Satur-
day, Aug. 23, at Temple Kol
Ami. Jamie is the daughter of
Lynn and Stephen Warren and
the sister of Andrew Warren.
Jamie has been a student at
West Hills Middle School. She
enjoys many sports, including
volleyball, basketball, diving,
track and rollerblading.
Jamie's mitzvah projects in-
cluded working at the Juvenile
Diabetes Foundation and plant-
ing flowers at her temple.
Jamie is the granddaughter
of Lillian Weinberg and Reva
Warren and the late Robert
Weinberg and Joseph Warren.

Stuart Wagner

Stuart Wagner of West Bloom-
field will be bar mitzvah at Con-
gregation Shaarey Zedek B'nai
Israel Center Saturday, Aug. 23.
Rabbi Bitran will lead services.
Participating in the ceremo-
ny will be Stuart's parents, Cyn-
thia and Lewis, his sister Hilary,
and his brother Justin. His
grandparents are Esther and
Donald Simon of West Bloom-
field and Rose and Julian Wag-
ner of Bloomfield Hills.
Stuart will start seventh
grade at Detroit Country Day
Middle School and plans to con-
tinue his Jewish education at
Shaarey Zedek. He is an avid
hip-hop dancer and loves to ski,
play tennis, video and comput-
er games. This summer he vol-
unteered his time at Shaarey
Zedek's Camp Betman.

David Rudoi of West Bloomfield
will be bar mitzvah Saturday,
Aug. 23, at the Birmingham
Temple. Rabbi Sherwin Wine
will lead services.
Participating in the services
will be David's parents, Ronda
Shapiro and Alex Rudoi. His
grandparents are Bud Shapiro
and Lilya and Roman Rudoi. He
also is the grandson of the late
Shirley Shapiro.
David is a student at Abbott
Middle School and is active in
music, rollerblading and chess;
he took third place in a state
chess championship.

Brett Elken

Brett Michael Elken will observe
his bar mitzvah on Saturday,
Aug. 23, at Congregation
Shaarey Zedek. Brett is the son
of Irving and Pamela Elken,
brother of Lindsey and Lauren
Elken. Proud grandparents are
Rita and Morris Elken and Regi-
na Weiss. Brett also is the grand-
son of the late Milton Weiss.
Brett attends Berkshire Mid-
dle School and enjoys sports,
traveling and music. He is a ju-
nior CIT at CMI and delivers
newspapers for the Observer-Ec-

centric.
