JOHN A. MINTZ, 84, of Singer

Island, Fla., died Aug. 17. Mr.
Mintz was the chairman and
chief financial officer for
Peabody Barnes, a pumps and
water systems manufacturer in
Mansfield, Ohio. He was a
member of the Mansfield Ro-
tary, Mansfield Treasurers, on
the board of directors and one of
the founders of Mansfield
Memorial Homes and a past
commodore of the Mansfield
Yacht Club.
He was also on the boards of
the Mansfield Jewish Federa-
tion and Temple Emanuel.
Mr. Mintz is survived by his
wife, Florence Mintz; sons and
daughters-in-law, Richard "Pep-
per" and Judy Mintz of Bloom-
field Hills, Nancy Elizabeth
Mintz of Los Angeles, Iris and
Dr. Steven Ossakow of North
Canton, Ohio; grandchildren,

JULIUS S. SILVERMAN, 84,

of Boca Raton, Fla., died Aug.
17. Mr. Silverman was a phar-
macist and a high-school chem-
istry and biology teacher in De-
troit. He was a sergeant in the
U.S. Army during World War
II, stationed in South Carolina.
He also was a Mason.
Mr. Silverman is survived by
his wife, Helen Freid Silver-
man; son and daughter-in-law,
Phillip and Marie-Adele Silver-
man of France; grandchildren,
Nathan and Justin Silverman;
brother and sister-in-law, Mil-
ton and Michaelyn Silverman of
