Commerce Township's Marc
Dubowski, a 10-year-old fifth-
grader at Hillel Day School, was
part of the Lakes Athletic Asso-
ciation baseball team that ad-
vanced to the Pony League World
Series in Irving, Texas.
Dubowski plays on the 9-and-
10-year-old Travel A Tournament
Team that won district, state and
the North Zone 2 regional tour-
naments.
At the Pony League, Mustang
Division World Series, the local
team tied for fourth in the coun-
try with a 1-2 record.
Dubowski excelled in the field
at second base, left field and cen-
ter field.

Leagues Forming

The fall season of the B'nai B'rith
Leadership Network Billiards
League begins Monday, Sept. 22,
at 5th Avenue Billiards in Royal
Oak, and runs for 10 weeks.
Cost to join is $40 for members,
and $50 for non-members.
Signup deadline is Sept. 8.

The Leadership Network's
bowling league at Farmington's
Drakeshire Lanes begins on Sun-
day, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. The
league will run every other Sun-
day until May 10.
Cost is $25 to reserve space in
the league, and $10 per week.
Deadline to register is Sept. 7.

Oak Park Recreation is offering
flag football for boys and cheer-
leading for girls in grades 4-8.
Deadline to register is Friday,
Sept. 5, and practices begin on
Sept. 8. Games are Wednesday
evenings and Saturday mornings
in October.
Cost for each program is $25
for residents, $30 for non-resi-
