NCE includes Anchor Bay En- tertainment, which is one of the largest independent video pro- ducers in North America, pub- lishing and distributing children's, exercise, theatrical and special interest videos. Some of its best known brands include "Thomas the Tank En- gine & Friends," for which NCE owns the rights for the U.S. and Canada; "Crunch" exercise videos seen on ESPN; the clas- self-help seekers. Selections in- clude MBA, math, Spanish, French and other reference pro- grams, all available on CD-ROM. Pro One is one of their divisions. NCE customers include Tar- get, Blockbuster, Best Buy, Comp USA, Musicland, Publishers Clearing House, Sam's Wholesale Club, Suncoast and others. In the proprietary business, said Strome, "we own our own product. We own the licenses, or the rights, or the total product ourselves. That means that if someone wants to buy one of these products in the United States or Canada, the only place they can come for it is to North Coast Entertainment or to Han- dleman.
