ate executive director, will receive
the 10th annual Berman Award
for Outstanding Professional Ser-
vice at the August meeting of the
Jewish Federation Board of Gov-
ernors. Mrs. Weiner is a field-
work instructor for the WSU
School of Social Work, and past
president of the Michigan Soci-
ety for Clinical Social Work.

Congregation Beth Shalom has
hired BARBARA POLLACK
COOK as its first full-time exec-
utive director. Cook is a past pres-
ident of Adat Shalom Synagogue
and chaired that synagogue's
cemetery board. She also serves
on the Jewish Federation's Board
of Governors and is associate
chairman of the Education Bud-
geting Division. Cook also serves
on the Michigan-Israel Connec-
tion Board, where she chaired the
scholarship committee.
