keepers at a printing company.
When they came to Michigan
in 1991, the transition was
speedy.
"On Rosh Hashanah, I was
cantor in Chernovitz [a town in
Ukraine], and on Yom Kippur I
was in Detroit," he said.
Rozental quickly joined the Yid-
dish Culture Club.
"The average age was 85," said
Rozental, who took over as chair-
man in 1992 with the mission of
building bridges between Yiddish-
speaking Americans and Yiddish-
speaking immigrants from the
former Soviet Union.
Now boasting 100 members,
the club meets once a month at
the Jimmy Prentis Morris JCC
for conversation, lectures, literary
readings and music. ❑

In our shul we have two
Nachums, one a constant Sup-
porter — and one our Porter.
The first Nachum, between
all our respected members
a dear Jew, with a nice black
`Kapote,' all his children are
even dearer.
Long is he a Yid, a leader —
the same he teaches his kinder

good character traits has
each individually. His sons are
very loyal —
fearing Heaven, and listen to
their davening, Ah Michaya, is
Oh! so royal.

Another Yid is our Porter,
Nachum — in his trade is he a
Chochum.
A head, really open! he could
dance, he could sing —
Does pretty well with a La
Chaim.... A little davening.
Constantly involved in ar-
