Music Men

What do John Williams, left, and
Itzhak Perlman, right, have in com-
mon? They both are the quintessence
of their respective musical genres;
they performed together on a new al-
bum of popular film music, Cinema
Serenade; and they both will be shar-
ing a stage performing the songs on
this album, to be telecast live on PBS.
Williams — a five-time Oscar-win-
ning composer of such film scores as
Jaws, Star Wars, Fiddler on the Roof
and many more — collaborated with
Perlman on Schindler's List. See
them perform selections from such
favorites as Out of Africa, Cinema
Paradiso and Williams' own Sabri-

When The Cat's Away

Robert Zimmerman, a.k.a. Bob Dylan (no re-
lation, alas, to JNArts and Entertainment Ed-
itor Gail Zimmerman, but father of the
Wallflowers' Jakob) returns to Detroit, with

tured, who so sweetly covered Dusty Spring-
field's "Wishin' and Hopin"' for My Best Friend's
