per adult, $2.50 per

Education Series
Highlights Zionism

One hundred years ago this month (August 29-31, 1897), Theodor
Herzl convened the First Zionist Congress in Basel, Switzerland. To
commemorate this significant anniversary, Congregation B'nai Moshe
will offer a two-part adult learning series titled "Zionism at 100: A
Centennial Overview," featuring lectures and discussions facilitat-
ed by Seth Korelitz, doctoral candidate in Jewish history at Bran-
deis University and director of the Michigan Region of the United
Synagogue of Conservative Judaism.
The series is open to the community and will meet on Monday
nights 7:30-9 p.m., Aug. 18 and 25, at the synagogue. Tuition is $15
for members of B'nai Moshe; $20 for others.

David G. Gorcyca will be the
guest speaker at the next Fed-
eration Forum noon Wednesday,
Sept. 17, at the Townsend Hotel.
He will speak on "State of the
Law."
Prior to his election as Oak-
land County prosecutor, Mr. Gor-
cyca was in private practice, an
assistant prosecuting attorney
and house counsel for an insur-
ance agency.
Advance paid reservations at
$25 per person are required.
Kosher meals will be available
by request with advance pay-
ment.

ganization of America, Metro Detroit District, will be held 7:30

p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at the Detroit Opera House.
Dr. Lester Zeff was named chairperson of the Balfour Cele-
bration Committee, with. Anne Brand serving as co-chair.
Proceeds of the concert will benefit ZOA's domestic and Is-
rael-based programs and projects.
