New Officers
Lead Shul

Young Israel of West Bloomfield
recently elected the following offi-
cers for the coming year: president,
Marc Morse; vice president, Dr.
William Leuchter; recording sec-
retary, Rita Morse; treasurer, Bev-
erly Leuchter. Elected to the board
of directors were: Adam Brown,
Goldie Feinberg, Samuel Fein-
berg, Dr. Sidney Heisler, Solomon
Levine, Renee Mutchnidt.
Rabbi Steven Ettinger will re-
turn to the synagogue on Aug. 16.
The services and lectures will be
followed by a cholent kiddush. All
members of the community are
invited.

Child Care
On Shabbat

Congregation B'nai Moshe's Shah-
bat morning child-care program
for children ages 21/2 through 4
will return 9:30-11:30 a.m. August
2. This is a complimentary, drop-
in program which allows parents
to participate in Shabbat services
while their young children enjoy
Shabbat-appropriate games and
other play activities under the su-
pervision of teacher Paula Schane-
Koscilt.
There is no charge, and no
reservations are necessary. Chil-
dren younger than 21/2 are also
welcome to participate in Shab-
bat Shelanu if accompanied by a
parent.

Emanu-El
Breaks Ground

Temple Emanu-El will break
ground 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Aug.
3, for $1.5 million of renovations
to its sanctuary, social hall,
kitchen, foyer and other areas.
The ceremony will take place with
Temple Emanu-El's clergy, in-
cluding new . Senior Rabbi Joe
Klein, members of the congrega-
tion and local dignitaries officiat-
ing.
Festivities will include activi-
ties for young and old including
storytelling, singing, dancing, soft-
ball, t-ball, volleyball, games, mag-
ic, music and more. As a special
treat, Rabbi Klein will perform his
first official magic show for the
