dler graduated from Tufts Med-
ical School in 1950 and was a
member of the Phi Beta Kappa
fraternity. Dr. Chandler also
was a former chief of medicine
at St. Joseph Hospital, profes-
sor emeritus of medicine at
Wayne State University and
emeritus attending physician
at William Beaumont Hospital.
He is survived by his wife,
Sylvia Chandler; daughters,
Leslie and Dr. Michael Atzmon
of Ann Arbor, Adrien Chandler
of West Bloomfield; son and
daughter-in-law, Dr. Michael
and Ellen Chandler of New
York; grandchildren, Daniel
and Jessica Alter, Amy and
Ethan Atzmon, Jonathan and
Diana Chandler; brother, Dr.
Joseph Chandler; sisters,
Elaine Hoffman of Rhode Is-
land, Ann Chandler of Califor-
nia, Nada Chandler of Texas.
Dr. Chandler was the loving fa-
ther of the late Ellen Chandler
Alter and the late Barbara
Chandler.
Interment at Machpelah
Cemetery. Contributions may
