A Sundae
Kind Of
Love

Songs Of Love

John Beltzer wants to bring
comfort to terminally and
chronically ill children — but
he needs your help.
Mr. Beltzer is the man be-
hind "Songs of Love," cassettes
of individual, personalized
songs given free to ailing chil-
dren.
"Receiving the 'Songs of
Love' cassette never fails to
have an incredible effect on
the child, family, friends and
hospital staff," says author
Danny Siegel. "Picture the

child, and imagine the happi-
ness."
Beltzer works with pro-
fessional musicians and techni-
cians who produce the tapes,
more than 300 of which al-
ready have been sent out. It
begins with a profile sheet,
which asks about the child's
special interests and hobbies.
Writers then compose and
record a one-of-a-kind song es-
pecially for the patient
("Brent, Brent, he's heaven
sent/He shoots so fast it al-

ready went/Nobody
plays hockey quite like
Brent/ When it takes a
shot, it leaves a dent.")
To hear song excerpts,
call the Songline at 1-
718-997-7548.
Tax-deductible
donations may be
sent to Songs of
Love, c/o John Beltzer,
108-12 65th Rd., Forest
Hills, NY 11375, (718)
997-8482.

Precious Feliciano receives her own "Song
of Love" from John Seltzer.

You'll Dig This

Sweet Dreams

Do you give your son seven kisses (one for
each year of his life), then read two stories
(one he picks, one you pick), then put on a
tape of Jewish lullabies to help him get to
sleep?
Or maybe your bedtime ritual includes
talking about the day's events, singing a fa-
vorite song and saying the Sh'ma?
The AppleTree wants to hear all about
your bedtime routine for a future issue.
Please send ideas to Sweet Dreams, The
AppleTree, 27676 Franklin Rd., Southfield,
MI 48034.
