At Tamarack
The Fresh Air Society will be
sponsoring week-long Elderhos-
tel programs on Sunday, July 20,
Aug. 10, and Aug. 17, at Butzel
Conference Center, located in Or-
tonville.
Over the July 20 week, Rabbi
Marla Feldman, assistant three-
-‘, for for Domestic Concerns of the
Jewish Community Council of
Metropolitan Detroit, will pre-
sent "Law, Ethics, and Religion:
Bio-Medical Ethics in the Brave
New World. Dr. Brian Schmidt
(University of Michigan) will dis-
cuss 'Tales from the Second Clin-
ton Administration, and Dr.
Enoch Brater (University of
Michigan) will lecture on "Shake-
,- speare and the Jewish Question."
Over the Aug. 17 week, Rabbi
Sherwin T. Wine (Birmingham
Temple) will lecture on "Five
Wars That Changed America"
and Dr. Ralph Williams (Uni-
versity of Michigan) will present
"Stories of Difference, Stories of
Assimilation." Corinne Stavish
(Lawrence Technological Uni-
versity) will present "From Shtetl
to Suburb: The Transition to the
New World Through Story" dur-
ing each of the six-day programs.
Evening entertainment will in-
clude Gemini, Michael Deren's
`The Past in Person" and the Fes-
tival Dancers directed by Harri-
