The late president of Waterspout Communica- tions, Inc., the parent company of The Jewish News, was award- ed posthumously the American Jewish Press Association's Joseph Polakoff Award. The citation recognizes exemplary service, integrity and distin- guished career service in the field of Jewish journalism. Mr. Buerger died last No- vember in Baltimore of compli- cations during heart surgery. His son, Andrew, a Waterspout corporate vice president, and wife, Ronnie, accepted the award June 19 during ceremonies at the Israeli Embassy in Wash- ington, D.C. Waterspout Inc. is an um- brella organization of Jewish newspapers, including The Jew- ish News, Baltimore Jewish Times, Atlanta Jewish Times, Palm Beach Jewish Times, Boca I Delray Jewish Times, Western Jewish Bulletin of Vancouver, B.C. and Style mag- azine.
