But Zack had a falling-out with
OSU coach Randy Ayers and
transferred to Urbana, an NAIA
Division 1 school. He averaged 15
points and 10 rebounds per game
as a senior last season to help Ur-
bana reach the final eight in the
NAIA tournament.
After his senior season ended,
Zack transferred back to OSU and
graduated earlier this month with
a major in psychology.
The 6-foot-7, 230-pound Zack
says he's more of an all-around
player than he was at West
Bloomfield. "I'm a lot bigger. I've
worked out more. More muscular.
More like a slasher. I can shoot a
lot better. I can shoot threes now.
I'm probably like a 3-4 (small or
power forward). I can go in the
post, but I like to bring it out and
shoot sometimes."
Approximately 500 players
tried out for the U.S. Maccabiah
basketball team. After the initial
tryouts, the top 80 players were
invited to a final tryout in Wash-
ington, D.C., in early May. Twelve
players, plus two alternates, were
chosen.
"Out of the 12 people, I think 10
played (NCAA) Division I ball at
some time," Zack says. "There's
one high school kid (David Blu-
menthal). He's really good. I think
he's going to UCLA.
