recent article in En-
tertainment Weekly
discussed the high
cost of entertain-
ment, including movie tickets
up to $9 a person in New York
City.
Although metro Detroit the-
aters don't charge quite that, it's
close: A trip to the movies with
two adults and three children
can run as much as $35, and
that's not including treats. What-
ever happened to the days when
a double feature plus popcorn
plus bus fare cost 25 cents?
They're long gone. However,
some area theaters are doing
their best to accommodate the
family that just wants to have
fun, without taking out a mort-
gage to finance it
