Electric Candles
For Shabbat
Young Israel of Southfield has be-
gun a "From Darkness to Light"
project to provide electric candles
for the hospitalized.
Electric candlesticks are now
available from Young Israel of
Southfield for women who wish to
fulfill the mitzvah of lighting can
but for whom safety consid-
erations prevent using wax
candles.
To memorialize their parents,
Eleanore Rose and Ella Posner,
Esther and Erwin Posner have
purchased electric candlesticks.
These will be distributed, in a kit.
Since not all sources of electric
light are appropriate for Shabbat
candlelighting, a booklet has been
included which describes the Ha-
lachot involved in use of electric
candles for this purpose.
Candlesticks may be obtained
by calling Rabbi or Mrs. Goldberg
at Young Israel of Southfield, (248)
358-0154 or (248) 355-9551, or Es-
ther or Erwin Posner of Southfield.
