he sun was smiling and the clouds were
drifting lazily last Sunday as over 40 vol-
unteers gathered to beautify three group homes
operated by the Jewish Association for Resi-
dential Care.
The Flower-A-Thon was one of four annual
events coordinated by the JARC Young Adult
Committee. Volunteers and residents of the
homes — in Farmington Hills and Southfield
— planted flowers donated by Jay Korelitz of
Harry's Garden Center in Hazel Park.
"Sunday's was the best turnout ever," said
Stephanie Jacobson, chairperson of the JARC
Young Adult Committee. "Every year it grows."
JARC operates 16 group homes, four independent
living programs and the Keshet Family Support Pro-
gram. ll•
