You don't have to be Israeli to vote on issues affecting Israel. In selecting the delegates that America will send
to the 33rd World Zionist Congress, we go straight to you. Each and every qualified American Jew is offered
an opportunity to vote.
From the concept of a homeland to the actual purchase of the land, from building its infrastructure to
the establishment of the State, and from the aliyah following the Holocaust to the aliyah of today, the World
Zionist Congress has grappled with and helped resolve the many issues that face the Jewish people.
The American delegation is crucial. As the largest delegation outside Israel, its diverse opinions will sig-
nificantly affect the final decisions of the entire Congress.
Participate in this democratic process. Help choose your delegates. Fill out the attached registration form
and enclose your $2.00 registration fee. A ballot, along with a full description of the slates, will be sent to you
at the end of the summer. Exercise your right to vote, and vote for the delegates who will represent your point
of view.
In order to receive your ballot and exercise your right to vote, you must cut out and complete this registration form and mail before June I to:

I'm not sure if my parents
give much thought to whether
or not they are soul mates. I
believe they are They met on
a blind date, became engaged
six weeks later and somehow,
miraculously, their initial in-
stincts were right: Its been 28
years.
Although I have not found
mine I imagine soul mate to
mean best friend, comedic
partner, parenting team, dual
dreamers. It's the person you
constantly think about, the
person you can never spend
enough time with, the person
who causes a dull ache in the
pit of your stomach when you
are apart.
Only a few
chances to really
discover true
happiness.
Can it be a best friend, not
a romantic partner? Sure. It's
the person without whom
your life cannot continue in
the best manner. The person
who reaches deep down and
touches your soul indefinite-
ly, leaving behind a few fin -
gerpri nts as evidence that
only they have been there,
that they alone can unlock
the deepest, most personal
part of you.
Relationships are a big
deal. They are what unravels
after the wedding, and with-
out anyone else's input — in-
cluding family, friends,
children. (Of course, it has to
be able to endure the input of
everyone around you.)
Looking around this news-
room, I see different examples
of good, solid, real relation-
ships, and it warms my heart.
Because in this fast-paced
world of competing concerns
and conflicts, we have only a
few chances to really discov-
er true happiness — in what-
ever -unexpected situation you
find it.
I'm sure people can make
a situation fit their ideal, be-
lieve that the person they're
with is The One. But I think
everyone wants a life com-
panion, someone with whom
they can plan a future, raise
children, be silly, dream. In
reality, we all yearn for a soul
mate.
So if we're smart, we'll
choose wisely, hold out until
we stumble upon that person,
whom we can picture in the
distant future, sitting with on
a porch on a warm summer
evening. Anything else just
isn't worth it. 0
