AJE Plans
Annual Meeting
The Agency for Jewish Educa-
tion's annual meeting will be 7:30
p.m. Thursday, May 29, at Young
Israel of Oak Park.
Following the election of offi-
cers and the board for the
1997/98 year, the evening will
feature a keynote presentation,
"Catching Fire: Scrapping the
Continuity Agenda," by guest
presenter Joseph Kohane, exec-
utive director of the Wexner Jew-
ish Student Center for the Ohio
State University Hillel.
Mr. Kohane was born in
Poland and immigrated to
France and then to New York.
His educational background
spans from Chasidic day school
to Reform rabbinical seminary to
Judaic graduate studies. Before
becoming the executive director
of Ohio State's Hillel, he was Hil-
lel director at the University of
Michigan.
Following the meeting and ad-
dress, there will be a dessert re-

B'nai Moshe
Shavuot Study
Adult learners are invited to
Congregation B'nai Moshe to
prepare for Shavuot, which be-
gins Tuesday, June 10.
Two learning sessions will be
offered each Shabbat morning
preceding a Learning Minyan,
during the Torah service, from
about 9:45 to 10:30 a.m., and at
the B'nai Moshe Stay and Learn
Study Circle following kiddush,
from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Presen-
ters include B'nai Moshe mem-
bers Lynne Avadenka, Nancy
Kaplan, Seth Korelitz and Len
Wanetik.
