the Detroit Jewish community which
remains unsurpassed.

Interior
Designer
Jeanette Stewart Fink, 93, former De-
troiter of Margate, Fla., died May 13. Mrs.
Fink was an interior designer. She began
her interior design business in the late 1930s
with Century Furniture. She was a leading
figure in Detroit's interior design industry
for over 60 years.
She is survived by her husband, Gilbert
Fink; sons and daughters-in-law, Harvey
Stewart and Beverly Granitz of Boca Ra-
ton, Fla., Richard and Melanie Stewart of
West Bloomfield; grandson, Michael Stew-
art; brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and
Goldie Rothenberg of San Diego, Calif.; sis-
ter, Hilda Etienheimer of Bloomfield Hills.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to the Ameri-

More than 300 people will take the oath to become US citizens in a
ceremony at Temple Israel, 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 27, 1997.
Michigan's US Senator, Spencer Abraham, Chairman of the Senate
Sub-committee on US immigration is the guest speaker. The oath
will be administered by US District Judge Bernard Freidman and
the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance will be led by veterans
representing various ethnic communities. The ceremony also
includes a musical selection and a reception featuring international
pastries.
This event is sponsored by the Detroit Coalition for Responsible
Immigration Policy; Arab Community Center for Economic and
Social Services; Association of Chinese Americans; Chaldean
Federation of America; Jewish Community Council of Metropolitan
Detroit; Latin Americans for Social and Economic Development;

Endowment Fund
Is Established
An endowment fund has been
established in the memory of
Marilyn (Pershin) Weisberg,
who passed away in March.
The fund will assist women of
need who have been diagnosed
with breast cancer.
The fund will be managed by
the Marin General Hospital
Foundation in Marin County in
northern California, where Ms.
Weisberg resided. Contribu-

HATTIE BLUMENAU, 92, of
Boca Raton, Fla., died May 17.
Mrs. Blumenau was a personal
secretary for a Federation pres-
ident and retired at the age of
82. She was a graduate of the
Detroit Business Institute.
Mrs. Blumenau also was an
honorary member of Congrega-
tion Shaarey Zedek.
She is survived by her step-
daughter and stepson-in-law,
Janice and Avery Fried; five
grandchildren; many loving
great-grandchildren; brother,
Henry Goldsmith of Novi. Mrs.
Blumenau was the beloved
wife of the late Aaron J. Blu-
