Aviv is a member of Cum Laude
Society and winner of the Evan
Shapiro Award, Smith Book
Award and Luella Houser
Sportsmanship Award. She was
captain of the tennis team,
played varsity softball and was
class president two years and
vice-president one year. She
plays violin in orchestra and
string quartet. She will attend
Brown University.

Baker is forensics team captain
and a two-year state finalist. She
is senior class treasurer, active
in Groves Performing Arts, par-
ticipant in Generation of Promise
and Shaarey Zedek adult choir.
She attended Interlochen Arts
Camp for piano and earned nine
consecutive superior awards. She
will attend the University of
Michigan.

Averbuch is editor of yearbook,
Michigan-Israel Connection's
"Babaganuush" and the Central
Region USY newsletter. He
spent a semester in Jerusalem
on Project Discovery and is pres-
ident of Beth Abraham Hillel
Moses USY. He is a member of
National Honor Society and
earned a National Merit special
scholarship. He will attend
Washington University in St.
Louis.

Berkowitz is active in B'nai
B'rith Youth Organization, Unit-
ed Synagogue Youth, National
Conference of Synagogue Youth,
Student Leadership Academy,
National Honor Society and
Anti-Defamation League Dream
Dialogue. She was a member of
the tennis and volleyball teams.
She will attend seminary in
Jerusalem for one year and then
Michigan State University.

JANET BLUMENFELD

Berman is a member of Na-
tional Honor Society, Latin Club,
intramural basketball, and re-
cipient of the Academic Excel-
lence Award. He teaches Hebrew
at Congregation Ahavas Israel
and is a senior counselor at
Camp Shalom. He has coached
fifth and sixth grade basketball,
is active in youth group and will
attend the University of Michi-
gan..

Bernstein won the National
Youth Foundation's "I Dare You"
Leadership Award, Xerox Schol-
ar Award, Princeton Book Award
finalist and Tandy Scholar. She
was involved in National Honor
Society and community service
programs. She will attend the
University of Michigan.

Biber won a National Merit
Scholarship and the Brown Uni-
versity Book Award. She has
been active in symphony band,
jazz band and the Student Di-
versity Committee. She has re-
ceived superior ratings in piano
from the National Federation of
Music Clubs, and has performed
at Cranbrook, DSO Holiday
House and Workmen's Circle.
She will attend the University of
Michigan School of Music.

Blumenfeld is a member of
Cum Laude Society, editor-in-
chief of the yearbook, vice-pres-
ident of Community Service
Club, played varsity field hock-
ey and lacrosse, and is a mem-
ber of Ahavah BBG. She won
first place at Regional Our Town
Art Show and won the Optimist
Appreciation Award for commu-
nity service. She will attend
Tufts University.
