She is survived by her hus-

Friedman of Beverly Hills,
Calif , Abe and Pearl Fried-
man of Huntington Woods.
Services were held in Los
Angeles; interment was at
Hillsdale Memorial Park and
Mortuary.

LEWIS HENDIN, 90, former
Detroiter of Tamarac, Fla.,
died May 3.
He is survived byhis loving
wife, Mary; daughter and son-
in-law, Marcia and Al Koval-
sky of California; son and
daughter-in-law, Jim and Reva
Hendin; grandchildren, Robert
and Sharon Kovalsky of Cali-
fornia, Bruce and JoLynn Ko-
valsky of Washington, Marty
and Myriam Kovalsky of Cali-
fornia; great-grandchildren,
Jenna and Shane Kovalsky
and Katie Litell.

SARAH HIRST, 98, of Trea-
sure Island, Fla., died May 12.
Mrs. Hirst is survived by her
sons and daughters-in-law,
Murray and Josephine Hirst of
Treasure Island, Norman Hirst

Janie Hirst of Mt. Dorn, Fla.;
daughter and son-in-law, Miri-
am and Stan Steinberg of An-
nandale, Va.; grandchildren,
Alan and Darlene Hirst, Robert
and Nancy Hirst, David Hirst,
Debra and Ed Matthews, Su-
sanne and Mark Tilghman;
great-grandchildren, Michael
and Mindy Matthews, Stephen
and David Hirst; brother, Sam
Lewis of Oak Park. She was
the beloved wife of the late
Samuel Hirst and the dear sis-
ter of the late Al Lewis, the late
Morris Lewis and the late Jack
Lewis.
Interment at Beth El Memo-
rial Park. Contributions may

merly of Southfield of Liver-
more, Calif., died May 6.
She is survived by her sons

Beverly Kandel of West Bloom-

dren, Mark and Cindy Kandel,
Jo-Ellen and Henry DeNicola,

Michael Morris, Louis, Sam
and Rosie DeNicola. She was
the loving great-grandmother
of the late Stephen Kandel;
beloved wife of the late Nussan
Kandel.

Peace Cemetery, Oakland,

GEORGE KENT, 88, of South-
field, died May 9.
He is survived by his daugh-

Bloomfield; sister, Sally Gen-
