and those scheduled for seniors.
A group called "Projenet" is de-
signed to encourage business net-
working. The Center Players put
on shows to rave reviews. Jew-
ish stars appear in the annual
cultural series.
The physical health depart-
ment offers an air-conditioned
gym, sauna, steamroom and spa,
Nautilus Fitness Center, lighted
tennis courts, swimming pools,
volleyball and basketball courts.
The Jewish Federation of
Greater Orlando is in the same
location as the JCC, 851 N. Mait-
land Ave.
There are 11 synagogues in the
Orlando area: including five Con-
servative, five Reform and one
Orthodox.
If you are interested in visiting
the local chapter of your favorite
organization, you will find Hadas-
sah, ORT, B'nai B'rith and B'nai
B'rith Women,
Jewish War
Veterans.

sites in Orlando devoted to Jew- Monday through Friday, the cen-
ter has an extensive library of
ish culture, history and religion.
Let's start with the dynamic books, videotapes and oral histo-
Jewish Community Center. To ries of survivors, liberators and

ou've decided to go to Dis-
ney World. You have your
plane tickets to Orlando,
Fla. The kids are so excit-
ed they can't sleep — and you're
not leaving for months.
If you go any time during the
months of April to September,
you will be one of 34 million vis-
itors. If you go in December, you
will hit the biggest crowds of the
year (almost 2 million).
Is it worth it?
Yes. But plan your trip care-
fully. I suggest staying at one of
the many Disney hotels for con-
venience and the experience. You
can take the free Disney busses
(the best way to go) to the major
attractions, but you'll probably
still need a rental car.
Why? Because you'll want to
see other than Disney sights. Yes,
in addition to marvelous, mam-
moth Epcot, fun and educational

get there, take 1-4 to Maitland
Blvd. east to the corner of Mait-
land Ave. and Maitland Blvd. You
will find a fully staffed and busy
JCC.
Cultural arts and adult edu-
cation programs abound at the
JCC. Activities for children start
with the cradle and go through
senior high school. Eleven sepa-
rate camping programs are in ac-
tion during the summer on the
agency's lovely 12-acre site.

protectors.
One of the functions of the cen-
ter, in addition to instructing stu-

dents in the museum and in the
classroom, is teacher training.
Over 150 teachers were trained
last year in how to cover the Holo-
caust in their classrooms.
Be prepared to do a lot of walk-
ing. Take comfortable shoes and
a hat to protect your dome from
the summer sun. Be prepared to
spend several days seeing the
sights. ❑
