Shabbat Spent
Under The Stars

The Religious School Parents of
Congregation Beth Shalom will
host the second "Shabbat Under
the Stars" 5:45 p.m. Friday, May
16, at the synagogue. The
evening will include an informal
Shabbat box dinner, a Kabbalat
Shabbat service, music and so-
cializing.
The program will include
group singing accompanied by
Beth Greenapple, a local musi-
cian, songleader and Jewish ed-
ucator. Also featured will be
Congregation Beth Shalom's Shir
Choir (children in grades four to
six).
Participants are asked to bring
blankets and lawn chairs. Pre-
paid reservations are required for
Shabbat dinner. The cost for din-
ner is $9.50 for adults and $5 for
children (this includes 3 percent
contribution to Mazon - a Jewish
Response to Hunger).

Chabad Plans
Spring Classes

Bais Chabad Torah Center of
West Bloomfield will offer spring
classes.
Tuesday nights, Dr. Shlomo
Savvilowsky will give a class on
the prayer book beginning at 8:30
p.m. On Wednesday evenings
will be a beginners' Tanya class,
starting at 8:30 p.m. and given
by Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg.

classes this spring.

Bais Chabad
Elects Board

Bais Chabad Torah Center of
West Bloomfield has a new
board. The president is Dr. Aaron
Lupovitch with vice president
Alex Skoczylas. Dr. Kenny Kohn
takes over as secretary and the
treasurer is Dr. Alan Reinstein.
The new board consists of Dale
Goodman, Sara Michlin, Leah
Ruby, Elisheva Williams, Dr.
Modesto Fontanez, Kenny Borin,
Marty Hochbaum, Gary Miller,
Paul Draznin. and Phil Wolf.

Young Family
Service Set

The Young Family Shabbat Com-
mittee of Temple Emanu-El has
scheduled Shabbat services for
10 a.m. Saturday, May 10. Ser-
vices are geared toward children
ages 2-7 and their families.
A craft and brunch will follow
the service.
