Cantor Earl Berris, a native De-
troiter, will be guest chazzan at
Congregation B'nai Moshe dur-
ing the weekend of May 16-18.
Cantor Berris has served as
chazzan, mohel, educator, and
choir director at Kehilath Israel
Synagogue in Kansas City,
Kansas, for the past 11 years.
During the years 1978 to 1983,
he was professionally involved in
youth education and other pro-
gramming at Adat Shalom Syn-
agogue, Congregations Beth
Achim, B'nai David, Beth Abra-
ham Hillel Moses and Temple
Kol Ami.
Cantor Berris has worked in Is-
rael, New York and Connecticut,
as cantor, music therapist and ed-
ucator. He was ordained at the
Jewish Theological Seminary of
America in 1976 and also holds a
master's degree in education with
a specialty in marriage counsel-
ing and family therapy, and a
bachelor of arts in music therapy.
