SPACE Plans
For Stepfamilies

SPACE, a project of National
Council of Jewish Women/Greater
Detroit Section, will host two
events for stepfamilies. Beginning
on Wednesday, May 14, contin-
uing May 21, and ending on May
28, SPACE will hold a workshop
for stepfamilies with Ron Papa.
They will meet from 7 p.m. to 9
p.m. at the SPACE office, 26400

Lahser, Suite 100, Southfield.
There is a charge of $30 for a cou-
ple and $20 for an individual. Pre-
registration is required.
SPACE also is planning a step-
parenting weekend camp, Fri-
day-Sunday, September 19-21,
at YMCA Camp Storer,
Napoleon, Mich. The cost is $53
per adult, $41 per child ages 6 to
17.

Akiva Hebrew Day School recently organized activities with JARC-Keshet, the
Jewish organization devoted to developmentally disabled. Before Pesach, the
fifth-grade classes of Rabbi Avram Goldstein and Mrs. Mindy Siegel volunteered
to put on a model seder for 9-year-old Hershy Tinman of Southfield, a JARC-
Keshet member. Pictured with Mrs. Siegel are Hershy and Akiva fifth-graders.

Publicity Deadlines

The normal deadline for local news and publicity items is
noon Thursday, eight days prior to issue date. The dead-
line for out-of-town obituaries is 10 a.m. Tuesday, three
days prior to issue date.
All material must be typewritten, double-spaced, on 872
x 11 paper and include the name and daytime telephone
number of sender.
