Rabbi Lau was born to a family of respected Rabbanim that goes back 37 generations. Born in 1937

in the city of Pvotrekov, Poland to the honorable parents; Rabbi Moshe Chaim Lau Zt"1, Rabbi of
Pvotrekov and his wife Rebbitzen Chava. Rabbi [au lived through the holocaust in the labor camp
Buchenwald surviving with his brother Naftali. His parents both perished. Over the past several
decades Rabbi Lau has built a distinguished career in Israel as one of the leading Rabbinical figures
serving as district Rabbi of Northern Israel, Chief Rabbi of Netanya, Chief Rabbi and Av Beit Din of
Tel Aviv Jaffa. In 1993 he was elected as Israels Chief Rabbi. It is an honor to have Rabbi Lau as our
distinguished guest.
