Mr. Montgomery

Jeff Montgomery, longtime gay
and lesbian civil rights activist,
president of the Triangle Foun-
dation, will be honored at the an-
nual dinner of the Oakland
Branch, American Civil Liberties

Friends of Refugees of Eastern
Europe will host the first and sec-
ond seders on Monday and Tues-
day, April 21 and 22, at the Jewish
Community Center in Oak Park.
The seders will be led by Rab-
bi Yosef Mishulovin, spiritual
leader to the Russian congrega-
tion, and will be assisted by rab-
binical students coming to Oak
Park for the holidays.
The community is asked to
share the responsibility of pro-
viding seders for new Americans.

Nominations for the directors

In accordance with the bylaws,
other qualified persons may be
nominated for election by a peti-
tion signed by not less than 50
members of the corporation and
filed with Marsha Goldsmith
Kamin, executive director, not less
than 10 days prior to the date of
the annual meeting. Only one per-
son may be nominated by each
such petition and no nomination
shall be valid unless the nominee
shall have consented to such nom-
ination.

Religious Beliefs
Are Discussed

The Ecumenical Institute for Jew-
ish-Christian Studies will present
a program.titled "What Do You
Believe?" The Rev. William Mur-
phy (Our Lady of Refuge Catholic
Church), Pastor Bruce Quatman
(Holy Spirit Lutheran Church)
and Rabbi Norman Roman (Tem-
ple Kol Ami) will address this
question. The program is divided
into three sessions; attendance at
all three sessions is encouraged.
The panel participants will ex-
amine the following topics: Tues-
day, May 6, Who Wrote the Bible?
Inspiration and Scripture; Tues-
day, May 20, Meeting God: Prayer
and Spirituality; Tuesday, June
3, Faith Responses to Ethical De-
cision-Making. Life and Death Is-
sues.
The sessions begin at 7:30 p.m.
and will last approximately 1 1/2
hours each evening. Each session
will be held at Temple Kol Ami.
There is no charge, but reser-
