Public Forum

The Metropolitan Detroit District,
Zionist Organization of America,
and the Men's Club of Congrega-
tion Beth Achim will mark the
centenary of political Zionism at
a public forum 10 a.m. Sunday,
May 4, at Congregation Beth
Achim.
Rabbi Herbert Yoskowitz, reli-
gious leader of Congregation Beth
Achim, and Ezekiel Leikin, exec-
utive vice president of Metro De-
troit ZOA, will discuss "Zionism:
Substance and Changes 1897-
1997."
Dr: Jerome S. Kaufman, pres-
ident of Metro Detroit ZOA, and
Charles Berris of Congregation
Beth Achim will co-chair the fo-
rum.

Workmen's Circle
Plans Events

Workmen's Circle/Arbeter Ring
will observe the 54th anniversary
of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising
with a memorial 3:30 p.m. Sun-
day, April 20, at the Workmen's
Circle building, 26341 Coolidge,
Oak Park. Members of three gen-
erations will be participating in
the program. There will be pre-
sentations by Aaron Egan, Abe
Lorber, members of the WC/AR
Teen Group; Esther Tschirhart
and members of branches 1088
and 460/227. Ruth Savage will
sing some partisan songs. The
public is invited.
Workmen's Circle/Arbeter Ring
will observe its annual third seder
celebration noon Sunday, April
27, at the Workmen's Circle build-
ing. A specially prepared Hag-
gadah will be read and a Pesach
lunch will be served. Reservations

Orientation
For Volunteers

The AIDS Volunteer Network is
in need of volunteers. The next ori-
entation for new volunteers is
scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday,
May 3, at the AIDS Consortium
of Southeastern Michigan Inc.,
downtown Detroit. The orienta-
tion will last until 2:30 p.m. and
will include AIDS 101, legal and
confidentiality issues and values
clarifications.
There is no cost for the orien-
tation. Respond to the network by
