For Action Day
April 14 is the deadline for high
school students to register for Jew-
ish Youth Action Day on April 27,
when participants will provide vol-
unteer assistance at Jewish and
general community agencies in
metropolitan Detroit.
The day will begin at 9:30 a.m.
at the Jimmy Prentis Morris Jew-
ish Community Center, where
students will board buses to sites
to provide companionship to se-
niors and do yard work and home
painting, among other tasks.
Registration must be received
at the Federation offices by April
14. Adult supervisors are needed.

Youth Events
Michigan Region AZA will be par-
ticipating in the AZAA Sectional
Basketball Tournament in Mil-
waukee, Wis., 'during the week-
end of April 11-13. This region will
be represented by members of
Chalutzim'AZA, whose team won
the basketball tournament dur-
ing regional convention. The
members attending are Dan
Levine, Mark Levine, Adam Os-
sipove, Jon Srohlick and Josh
Schulman, accompanied by their
adviser, Todd Wolfe. The winner
of this sectional tournament will
compete in the AZAA Champi-
onship Tournament in St. Louis,
Mo., over Memorial weekend.
A Mind, Body, Attitude (MBA)
Weekend retreat also will be held
in Milwaukee during the same
weekend. Michigan Region's del-
egates are Shari Katz, Ahava
BBG; Sara Zonder; Shira BBG;
Jayme Cohen, Shim BBG; Sher-
• y Kraft, Shoshanna BBG; Sant
Ashmann, Shim BBG; and Heidi
Levin, Ruach BBG.
Shira BBG will sponsor a dance
9 p.m.-midnight, Saturday, April
12, at Congregation Beth Abra-
ham Hillel Moses. Admission is
$6 or $5 plus a can of food. All
BBYO members and guests are
invited to attend.
The Michigan Region BBYO
board of directors will hold its
monthly meeting 7:30 p.m.
