DISCHER PHOTOGRAPHER here's no checking into the boards, be- cause the walls are solid concrete block. But that doesn't keep 70 youngsters in the Sunday afternoon in-line hockey league at the Jimmy Prentis Morris Jew- ish Community Center from trying to emulate all the fancy moves of Detroit hockey heroes Steve Yzerman or Sergei Federov. Eight teams at the JPM JCC are di- vided into two age groups: 7-10-year-olds and 11-14-year-olds. The younger divi- sion teams play at 2:30 or 3:30 p.m. Sun- days in the JPM gymnasium with the older teams following at 4:30 and 5:30. The season will continue through the end of April. ❑ Top: Coach David Blake gives some pointers during the game. Above: Avi Snider, 9, celebrates a goal. • Left: Gabi Simcha, Kivi Schwab and Suki.
