Sahn is president of the Michigan
ADL board. "Seder means 'order,'
and our coming together helps us
to bring abetter sense of order to
our relationship."
Pastor Jordan agrees that "by
getting together with our Jewish
brothers and sisters to celebrate
their holiday of freedom, we all get
new insights, and new partners,
in the struggle for a just society."
Says Ms. Rosen, "We are two
significant communities within
the Detroit metropolitan area, and
I think anything that can be done
to promote unity among people is

about each other, respecting each
other, recognizing we all have
common goals in terms of im-

two groups share this common
bond. The [black-Jewish] seder
was begun as another means to
bridge the gap between the com-
munities, and it's a way to come
together in our similarities and
still recognize our uniqueness."
The seder will blend the tradi-
tional with the contemporary, says
Ms. Rosen. The special Haggadah
