first associated with Pesach. A
lot of it she didn't mind; but
she hated, just hated defrosting
and then scrubbing the freezer.
Yet the result of all that
work, and the myriad other Pe-
sach preparations, was nothing
short of fabulous. All those
smells and tastes and sights —
sharp horseradish, sweet
charoset, egg-and-salt soup.
And then the long-awaited
main course. My mother is a
wonderful cook, and somehow
she always managed not only
to get the house in order but to
prepare magnificent Seder
meals.
Today, my mother lives in
Kansas C4 She
still makes unfor-
gettable Seder
meals, though I
haven't been to
one in years. Now
I have a family
here, and I prepare
for the holiday
with my husband,
Phillip and my
children, Adina,
Yitzhak and Talya.

Still, I have to say that I re-
member my family's Pesach
Seders quite well, including
those I attended when I was a
very little girl. Once, when I
was about 8, we went to a
Seder at the home of some of
my parents' friends, whose
