sraeli dancing and singing topped
of an afternoon of serious fun at
the Jewish Community Center,
where youth leaders of the Zion-
ist youth group Habonim-Dror
treated friends and family to dis-
cussion and debate.
Students staged a "values auction"
at which they debated the significance
-
of certain values in the context of build-
ing a nation. They staged a simulation
of the smuggling of Russian Jews to
Palestine in the 1930s and set up an
"obstacle course" to Israel for European
Jews escaping persecution in the 1940s.
In a lighter vein, everybody learned
to speak English with an Israeli
accent.
