showed people going into
Carnegie Hall where Jo was ap-
pearing.
She opens May 13-17 at Max-
im's on E. 62nd and Madison in
New York, owned by dress de-
signer Pierre Cardin, also owner
of the Maxim's in France, where
Jo may also be headlining at a fu-
ture date.
She has been nominated for
the MAC Awards (Manhattan
Association of Clubs & Cabarets),
which will be held at the Lincoln
Center ... Jo is already winner of
the Backstage Bistro Award in
New York, joining Eartha Kitt,
Margaret Whiting, etc.
Yes, she is the same Jo
Thompson that appeared locally

two-hour wait on weekends at
the unbelievable Cheesecake
Factory, with its menu book of
good things to eat, reasonable
prices and comfort.
Even dining outdoors on a cool
evening was pleasurable (it has
heating lamps) at Cheesecake
Factory, where we were in awe
at the mass of humanity that
kept coming and coming.
It's not so bad if you know
what you're doing ... And we
learned ... Like going upstairs to
the 140-seat bar-lounge, getting
seated and nibbling on appetiz-
ers ... In fact, many people like
it so much that they stay there
and order from the limited but
ample cafe menu that is provid-
ed.
Waiting for your table at
Cheesecake Factory in Atlanta
can be quite an enjoyable ad-
venture when knowing the ropes.
PACIFIC GRILL, under
Tom's Oyster Bar on Franklin
and Northwestern, never did of-
ficially open ... although people
were served ... But it is now of-
ficially closed. ❑
