weighs anchor at the Masonic Temple Theatre

Also featured in the musical about romance and so-
cial issues on board a traveling theater are Grammy
winner Karen Morrow as Andy's wife, Parthy; Sarah
Pb.isterer as their daughter, Magnolia; John Ruess as
gambler Gaylord Ravenal; Debbie deCoudreaux as Julie;
Andre Solomon-Glover as Joe; and Tony winner Gretha
Boston as Queenie.
The Jerome Kern-Oscar Hammerstein II musical,
adapted from the Edna Ferber novel, spans 40 years
and depicts life before and after the turn of the centu-
rY.
Directed by Hal Prince, the classic comes to Detroit
straight from Broadway with new and dramatic ren
ditions of its classic songs such as "Only Make Believe,"
"Why Do I Love You?" and "You Are Love."
The troupe of 70 actors, 30 musicians and 70 back-
stage assistants will be the largest musical theater pro-
duction to tour in recent history.
