Candles Given
To Hospitalized

Young Israel of Southfield will
hold a From Darkness to Light
project to provide electric candles
for the hospitalized.
Electric candlesticks are avail-
able from Young Israel of South-
field for women who wish to
fulfill the mitzvah of lighting
candles but for whom safety con-
siderations prevent using wax
candles. These will be distributed
in a kit; since not all sources of
electric light are appropriate for
Shabbat can.dlelighting, a book-
let has been included which de-
scribes the halachot involved in
use of electric candles for this
purpose. Each kit contains two
UL approved plastic candlesticks
with bulbs and the booklet on ap-
propriate halachot.

B'nai Moshe
Family Events

Families with children will enjoy
many activities and events at
Congregation B'nai Moshe dur-
ing March.
On the weekend of March 7-9,
B'nai Moshe and JEFF will spon-
sor a Family Camp Weekend at
Butzel Conference Center in Or-
tonville. The theme is "Life on a
Kibbutz."
Purim festivities will include
a holiday overnight "lock-in" par-
ty at the shul on Saturday night,
March 22, following the 7 p.m.
megillah reading, and a Purim
carnival, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday,
March 23.
At 4 p.m. Wednesday, March
26, there will be a challah-mak-
ing party for children ages 3-11.
In addition, B'nai Moshe will
offer a Shabbat Learning Minyan
for parents and other interest-
ed adult learners every Shabbat
morning from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m.
Finally, from 1-2:30 p.m. on
Thursday, March 27, B'nai
Moshe will offer a new eight-
week session of "Hava Nagila!
Let's Be Happy!" a Jewish en-
richment program for 3s and 4s.
The fee is $50 for member fami-
lies of B'nai Moshe, $75 for oth-
ers.
