THE COMMUNITY MAKES A DIFFERENCE
DURING THE HOLIDAYS

• JARC RESIDENTS donated money to buy gifts for
home—bound elderly.

arious individuals and groups in our commu-
nity demonstrated the true meaning of chesed (acts of
kindness) and tzedakah (charity) during the Thanks-
giving and Chanukah holidays by donating food pack-
ages and gifts for distribution to families in need. Our
sincere appreciation and gratitude is extended to the
following:

• ARIE LIEBOVITZ of Ari-El Enterprises for his do-
nation of 10 kosher turkeys.

• FRIENDS AND FAMILY OF THE LATE JEANETTE AND
HARRY GOLDBERG for their donation of 165 Thanks-
giving food baskets.

• TEMPLE BETH EL CHAVURAH PROJECT for pro-
viding Chanukah gifts for an entire family.

• TEMPLE KOL AMI SOCIAL
ACTION COMMITTEE for donat-
ing 30 toys.

• B'NAI BRITH MICHIGAN
REGIONAL COUNCIL for donating
150 packages filled with
wrapped gifts.

Temple Shir Shalom's annual project,
Light One Candle.

• BIRMINGHAM TEMPLE 2ND AND 3RD GRADE
ZEDAKAH PROJECT donated 13 packages of gifts for fami-
lies and their young children.

• HILLEL OF METROPOLITAN DETROIT for their do-
nation of toys.

• CONGREGATION SHIR TIKVAH for their annual
project, Light One Candle, which provided 135 gifts.

• THE NURSES COUNCIL OF HADASSAH AND THE
GLANTZ, WEINBERG AND CHUPACK FAMILES for their gen-
erous baskets of gifts for selected families.

Every effort was made to include everyone who made donations
during the holidays. If your name was omitted, please contact Marcia
Mittelman at 559-1500.
