Rabbi Lectures
At Adat Shalom

Rabbi Burton Visotzky will visit
Adat Shalom Synagogue 8 p.m.
Tuesday, March 11, when he will
take a look at the dysfunctional
families in Genesis and see what
we can learn from them.
Rabbi Visotzky, associate pro-
fessor of Talmud and rabbinics
at the Jewish Theological Semi-
nary, holds the Nathan and
Janet Appleman Chair of Mid-
rash and Interreligious Studies
at JTS. He served as dean of the
Seminary's graduate school from
1991 to 1996 and was the found-
ing rabbi of the JTS egalitarian
worship service. He has been a
visiting scholar at numerous
institutions and has lectured
throughout North America, Eu-
rope and Israel.
The evening with Rabbi Vi-
sotzky is being arranged by Adat

Shalom's Adult Study Commis-
sion. There is no charge. Re-

Mr. Medved is the host of the
PBS series "Sneak Previews"
and is chief film critic of the New
