The Federation Resource Line (formerly Jewish Information
and Referral Service) has a new name, but its mission is the
same—providing referrals to, or information about an agency,
resource or service.
Diverse in its scope, the Jewish Federation-sponsored Resource
Line has information about hundreds of topics, from care for
the elderly to dating services to volunteer opportunities. It also
works closely with the Commission on Jewish Eldercare Services.
For people with disabilities, the Resource Line has a database of
services including a Text Telephone (810) 967-0460 for people
with hearing impairments.
The Resource Line is staffed by volunteers trained to keep
inquiries confidential. Hours are 9:30 am-4:30 pm, M-F.
Carol Kaczander is the Federation Resource Line Director.
