JVS Explains
Financial Aid

Jewish Vocational Service (JVS)
will host a parent information-
al meeting on the Jewish Edu-
cational Loan Service (JELS)
and additional financial aid op-
tions for college students, 7 p.m.
Wednesday, March 19, in the
JVS library in Southfield.
JELS Coordinator Marvin
Berman will discuss how to ap-
ply for an interest-free loan of-
fered through JELS. JELS is
open to metro Detroit area Jew-
ish residents and is adminis-
tered through JVS, Hebrew Free
Loan Association and Jewish
Federation of Metropolitan De-
troit.
Dr. Berman also will address
the availability of financial as-
sistance through state, federal,
institutional and private sources.
Although the meeting will be di-
rected toward parents, students
are welcome to attend.

Scholarship For
Radio Buffs

The Ed Ludin K2UK, Memo-
rial Scholarship of $1,000 will be
offered by the Chaverim of
Delaware Valley Inc., a non-prof-
it amateur radio organization.
The applicant must hold an am-
ateur radio license and be of the
Jewish faith to be eligible.
The award is made on the ba-
sis of scholarship and financial
need. It is open to postsecondary
students in academic, technical
and graduate programs. There
is no age limit.
A copy of his/her amateur ra-
dio license must accompany the
request for an application. Ap-
plications are available by writ-
