spirited and passionate people
anyone could ever meet.
"Everyone loved this couple.
You could see how much Michael
loved Nancy. Their smiles were
contagious. They went to the cen-
ter of the dance floor and with a
warm embrace they passionate-
ly kissed.
"The dance floor was packed
throughout the whole night and
this romantic couple made sure
that every guest received a hug
and a kiss.
"After dinner, their bridal song
was "When I Fall In Love" by Ce-
line Dion. They looked at each
other throughout the entire song
and never noticed there were oth-
er people in the room.
"The couple obviously get their
romance from their parents. Both
Dick and Judy Komer and An-
nette and Allen Stone love each
other very much.
"At the end of the night, Mike's
fraternity brothers serenaded
Nancy after the guests formed a
circle singing 'That's What
Friends Are For' and concluded
with The Hawaiian Wedding
Song.' Since her guests couldn't
be with them on their honey-
moon, we all pretended for a mo-
ment we were in Hawaii with
them.
"Even Nancy's birthday has a
romantic touch. She was born on
Feb. 13th, the day before Valen-
tine's Day."
Vincenzo Bassonetti, executive
chef at Cafe Cortina, says that
one of the most romantic situa-
tions he has been in as a chef was
about two months ago.

The favorite romantic dessert
stemmed red roses. Slipped on
the stem of one single white rose of Pike Street Restaurant pastry
was an engagement ring. The be- chef Michael Forrest, from a

"A young couple made reser-
vations one evening at Van Dyke
Place," says Executive Chef Kei-
th Supian. "He asked for a quiet,
romantic table. After being seat-
ed at table six, they ordered two
glasses of champagne.
"The gentleman excused him-
self from the table to make a rest-
room trip. Instead, he approached
his waitperson and asked if he
would present a diamond en-
gagement ring to his dinner date.
After returning to the table, they
were brought an appetizer of
caviar. Dinner proceeded through
salads and sorbet. Entrees were
presented in their usual manner
under a silver dome.
"When her dome was lifted, she
was shocked to see a diamond en-
gagement ring atop a small
pedestal. The answer, of course,
was yes. For dessert they ordered
a chambord ice cream soda with
two straws. They return every
year on their anniversary."
